fldigi - a real great program but in a fragile system not easy to get along with. This refers to the programmversion available in june 2025
fldigi setup strategy
If you do not have 2 devices with sound cards etc. you need at least a shortwave radio. So you can hear on the radio wether the TX (which you can not hear on the FT891) has a real output. You can see the sending output on the waterfall but on the other side nothing. With a mini sw-receiver (or onother device) you have the real output control and so you can debug….antenna or like my problem was the fldigi show in the waterfall some output to the fldigirig (modem). But nothing was on the air. If flDigi generates some output and you see it it does not mean that this is on air automatically The problem was here that the usb device setting in the raspi controlled by the raspi sound system had 0 - value. So in alsamixer choose the usb-soundcard device and level the output up. Same thing with the mac m1 -> system setting raise the microphone and the usb speaker lets say to half.

The receiving is 750 Hz down of the sending frequency.

Settings in the ft891 :
Menu 08-04 OTHERS SHIFT Correct Setting: 1500Hz Default: 0Hz
Then output and Input have the same frequency shift.
Calling a programm via notification
Goto Configure -> notifications
Notifications react for example when a certain string is found in the received text. Therefore the text must be parsed. But this only happens when spot (upper left beside RxId) is green.
The problem is that spot is greyed out and only clickable when in the settings -> PSK-Reporter is initialized. So parsing is tied to psk - reporting
