….is a project to enforce the idependency of HAMRadio with the help of the Internet.

Idea

the imagination is to build a mailbox for HF (Kurzwelle), which is in the long run based on distributed databases like orbitDB.

The idea is not new : PSKmail is a programm and server system which does the same, but it is not really maintained and supported any more.

The first step is to build it on base of supabase, which is an openSource cloud database. The protokoll should be FSQ, which seems to be very robust for loose communication like HF.

The idea is to use fldigi to get the bridge between The waves and the letters. Fldigi hides all the signal communication and it can be completly run headless on a raspi, which is essential to minimize the power needed. Another option is gnuradio, which I will consider.

My setup at the moment to test it : 2 yaesu FT891 two digirig nobile modems and 2 raspis.

Problem at the moment

The problem at the moment is to get the get the two systems talks via air to each other, mainly because the lack of knowledge of fldigi.
